The original Slingbox transmitted live television broadcasts, or shows recorded on the owners PVR, onto any computer with a broadband internet connection.
However the SlingCatcher is a different animal altogether. Measuring just 8in-long this flattened pyramid shaped box transmits video material from, say, a Sky+ box to a TV – no computer required – assuming the two are in different parts of the house or, indeed, in different houses.
When demonstrated at CES, the target TV was seen to display a standard-definition video that seemed a near perfect replication of the source footage.
So as gadgets go this one should be firmly at the top of your must have list when it arrives in the
