New from HTC is the MTeoR Smartphone. Thankfully the product-naming department was not involved in the design of this neat little unit, which is extremely slick. The outer shell is a mix of smooth metal and rubber coating, and its light yet reassuring weight makes it feel sturdy and built to last.
The excellent 2.2-inch LCD screen is bright and gives accurate and clear colour reproduction, with enough space to comfortably read emails although not so good for documents.
With a flavour of BlackBerry about it the inclusion of a jog wheel is welcome, and the keypad is comfortable to type on and feels good to press, as does the extremely functional navigation stick.
Disappointingly, the 300Mhz processor fails to deliver a snappy performance when dealing with Windows Mobile OS, giving regular and noticeable loading times.
Though this won’t hinder general use, the MTeoR’s lack the responsiveness is noticeable compared to similar models.
Overall, this is a well-built, stylish smartphone, with enough functionality to satisfy most people’s demands expect to pay around £305 without a contract.
